The theory of open quantum systems (i.e., systems coupled to an environment) with applications to chemistry, physics and quantum information processing.
Prerequisite: EE 520  or PHYS 558a 
Recommended Preparation: Knowledge of basic linear algebra and undergraduate-level quantum mechanics in Chemistry or Physics; graduate-level quantum mechanics
